MUSIC, Mission & Ministry is an evening of music, prayer and spiritual reflection that will explore, through word and song, our connection to the Divine and our call to be people of justice. It will be lead by Rory Cooney, director of music and liturgy at St. Anne Catholic Community in Barrington, Illinois. Rory is a composer with twenty recorded collections of liturgical music published by Oregon Catholic Press, World Library Publications, and GIA Publications.
Terry Donohoo has one of the most sought-after voices in the world of liturgical music. For twenty-five years her distinctive voice has brought the music of Rory Cooney to life on fourteen recordings. Over the years, Terry has also recorded the music of Marty Haugen, Dan Schutte, the Dameans, Tom Kendzia, and Liam Lawton. She and Rory were married in 1994, and they are the proud parents of Desmond James, a graduate student at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
St. Bridget music director, Mark Mellis and his wife, Carol will assist Rory and Terry. The event is free and suitable for all ages. There will be a free will offering and CD’s of Rory’s music, including his newly released album “To You Who Bow,” available for purchase. ALL ARE WELCOME!
