Music Ministry

God has bestowed upon his people the gift of song. God dwells within each human person, in the place where music takes its source. Indeed, God, the giver of song, is present whenever his people sing his praises.
— (Sing to the Lord: Music in Divine Worship)

The musicians of St. Bridget parish strive to enable the sung prayer of the whole assembly, as well as to add their unique contribution of harmony and various sonorities of instruments. Their shared goal is to raise hearts and minds to God through active participation in music and song. New members are always welcome into one of the following musical ministries:

  • Choir
  • Song leaders/psalmists/cantors
  • Instrumentalists
  • Guitar (should be able to read charts)
  • Piano (good sight reader and able to play chord charts)
  • Bass
  • Drum, Percussion (drum set, congas, auxiliary)
  • String players (violin, viola, cello)
  • Wind players (especially flute)

The choir meets weekly for rehearsal on Thursdays (September through May) at 7pm in the church, and gathers before liturgy on the weekend.
