FROM FATHER SCOTT
ANNUAL FUNDRAISER AND FALL FESTIVAL KICK-OFF
Dear Parishioners,
This weekend we kick off the annual Fundraiser
and Fall Festival of our parish. We especially
need everybody’s support this year
because, needless to say, finances are tight for
the parish also. But more importantly, we
continue to grow as a faith community and to
have many ministries with many needs. This
is a great way to celebrate our communal life
and identity as God’s folks at St. Bridget. So
get your raffle ticket, buy a meal, and come
celebrate!
This year’s Fundraiser/Festival will inaugurate
our official year of celebrating 25 years
as a parish. We will spend the year October
2009-October 2010) with community events,
educational opportunities, and finally, next
fall, a capital campaign for the renovation of
our worship space. As a “pre” kick-off, I have
invited our founding pastor, Fr. John Cunningham,
to come and start the celebrating
with us by presiding at the 11 a.m. Sunday
Liturgy on October 4th. (This also happens to
be the Feast of St. Francis!) I hope many of
you will come to be with us as Fr. John
blesses us with a return. It has been a while in
coming. There were history and relationships
with the Diocese that needed to be processed.
I was given our bishop’s okay that all is well
with these, and so it is a good time on the eve
of our anniversary to have Fr. Cunningham
with us for this Mass. I pray also it will promote
healing and hope for all!
Pax Christi,
Fr. Scott
P.S. There will be a reception for Fr. John with
breakfast goodies after the 11 a.m. Mass.
